Life can be a lot like a game. Each roll of the dice could result in a great advance or a devastating downfall. Unlike a game of chance, your next move isn’t always left totally to chance. Of course things will happen that are beyond your control, but a lot of what happens is a direct benefit or consequence of the actions you have chosen.
Your life should be played more like a game of chess. Sometimes, with careful planning of your next moves, your goals will work out as planned. And even when they don’t, it may be easier to deal with whatever the other guy might throw your way.
And you need to remember, it’s great to celebrate your successes, but don’t get too caught up in congratulating yourself. You have to pay attention and be prepared, because you never know what kind of obstacles may pop up ahead of you.
The best thing you can do is to think positive, always be open to learning a new lesson, and take your experiences to heart. A mistake may sometimes be devastating to your game plan, but you have to get up, brush yourself off, and start plotting a recovery. A mistake is only a mistake if you don’t learn from it.
