Thinking outside the box has been preached as being the easiest way to increase productivity in the workplace. People are very complex individuals and this theory has made a lot of sense to many individuals and companies for one reason only; people have put limits on themselves and what they can achieve. Jobs have added to this misconception by defining what a job is supposed to cover. Because people have developed these theories about what they can and can’t do, it is easy to think outside the box because this is thinking outside what you have put up as limits. Thinking outside the box will only let you get as far as self-imposed limits or the limits that society has set for you. However, have you asked yourself, “What do I want? What do I want to achieve?”
Thinking with No Box
The only way we as individuals can ever reach that level of self-actualization in organizations is when we remove and ignore the limitations that society and minds have imposed on us. When you think with no box, you open up a new dimension of productivity in the workplace and to your life that lets you see all things are possible. Impossible is a mind frame that will only leave you in your comfort zone.
Think about what the world would be like if you didn’t aim to get a mortgage and buy a house so that your family will accept you? Imagine what you could achieve if you didn’t think about what society wanted you to achieve, and instead achieved what you want? Imagine how your productivity in the workplace would increase.
