In a relationship, acting out a bad decision, rather than first talking it through with your spouse or loved one, can be disastrous. When you’re having a problem, whether it’s within your relationship or an outside issue, you can never assume that your loved one knows what that problem is.

Talking it out is the first step in solving whatever may be wrong. Even if the subject is difficult to address, it is better to talk it out, than to act irrationally or inconsiderately and make the whole situation worse.

You should try to go to the source of the problem, and when that doesn’t work, you can seek out another appropriate person.

Sometimes talking over a work problem or an issue with your spouse or significant other, with a friend could also help you hash out what the right actions to take might be. The important thing is that you talk about it before you do something inappropriate, especially something that can’t be undone.
