Professional Speaker Says Help Your Employees Help You

Professional speaker says you should help your employees with their problems so they can help you by being more productive.

Andy Core is an expert in Work-Life Balance, Well Being and Peak Human Performance.

A professional speaker asks employers to help their employees help them. And it’s pretty obvious why. A happy employee is a hard-working employee. This is why it is very important – crucial even – to keep your employees’ morale up.

In big organizations, the best way to keep employee morale up is through the human resources department. A good HR department will make sure that employees are happy and doing their best during their working hours. To help with this, the HR department needs to be accessible to the company’s employees, and they should provide counseling whenever it is needed.

However, what happens if one day, an employee comes in and is faced with a professional, or even a personal problem? It is normally expected of them to keep their personal and professional lives separate, but no matter the case, this will affect the employee’s performance.

If an employee is having problems, whether that is with their personal or professional life, a professional speaker recommends having someone on staff that they can approach to talk to. A good HR department should have a friendly ear available to listen to their problems, and try to give them help and advice if necessary. This is why there needs to be a good and friendly rapport between the employer and the employee.

So, employers, a professional speaker urges you to help your employees help you.

Professional Speaker Explains Low and High Self-Esteem

Knowing the difference between the higher and lower levels of self esteem is important.

The main idea behind self-esteem is that it is an in-depth perception that you have of yourself. It is best to work on a self-esteem that is in the middle between low self-esteem and an over-inflated ego.

Andy Core is an expert in Work-Life Balance, Well Being, and Peak Human Performance.

Self-esteem, according to professional speaker Andy Core, can be one of many things. The main idea behind self-esteem is that it is an in-depth perception that you have of yourself. It is that combination of what you personally are capable of doing and what you think you are worth as a person in relation to society and those around you.

Low Self-Esteem

For as long as a person thinks lowly of themselves and their abilities, their self-esteem is not very healthy. Low self-esteem is a self-perception of an individual that is characterized by negative thoughts and feelings, which causes them to think lowly of themselves. When a person has a low self-esteem, among other things, they have little confidence in what they are capable of doing. The professional speaker explains that they expect to fail and often give up without putting much effort into a task.

Overly High Self-Esteem

This is quite the opposite and can be as equally harmful as low self-esteem. Usually, high self-esteem is an illusion of the person in reality. Often when an individual has an inflated high level of self-esteem they often exaggerate everything about themselves. For example, these individuals often think of themselves as superior, often quick to judge others, ignore their incompetence and despise those that criticize them.

What are Workplace Wellness Programs?

Workplace wellness programs help create a health awareness in the workplace.

Companies are implementing workplace wellness programs in an effort to encourage employees to live healthier. When people feel well they are more productive.

Andy Core is an expert in Work-Life Balance, Well Being, and Peak Human Performance.

Workplace wellness programs are becoming more and more popular with companies today. Many of those that implement these programs aim to improve the working environment so that they can boost employee productivity. Employee wellness programs are effective methods of promoting health and wellness of the workforce in general. They help create awareness around the workplace of the major aspects of health that directly affect them. They also focus on improving the morale and reduce the cost of healthcare to the company.

Wellness is Voluntary

Even though employee workplace wellness programs aim to improve the employees, they are only done on a voluntary basis and therefore the employees can choose not to take part in these programs. Before running through the costs of implementing a program it is advised that management take a survey of how many of the employees will be interested in the wellness programs. This will help give a picture of whether the program will benefit the corporation or not.

Find an Appropriate Leader

In order to implement this program to the fullest, management needs to find someone amongst the staff who leads a healthy lifestyle to head the program. This individual will be in charge of co-ordinating the program and it is important that this person be motivated to do the task. Ensure that this individual has their goals focused on improving the workplace wellness programs and speaking about it to other members of staff about it.

Two Important Aspects of Implementing Workplace Wellness Programs

Workplace wellness programs are quite complex to implement. They have complexities to them and need to be implemented in the correct manner

Encouraging preventive care and exercise as part of a workplace wellness program can lead to healthier employees and lower costs for medical insurance.

Andy Core is an expert in Work-Life Balance, Wellbeing, and Peak Human Performance.

Workplace wellness programs often don’t go as planned because of the way in which they are implemented. Andy Core suggests the following tips can help ensure success in this regard.

Promoting Preventive Care

As a company, try investing in vaccination for employees at work. It will always have a clear return on the investment. For example, bring the vaccination for flu to the office as part of a workplace wellness programs. This could easily benefit the company during the flu season because you have prevented a number of cases where employees are not at work because of the flu. If the health cover that your employees are getting doesn’t cover this vaccination, then pitch in by subsidizing the fees for these vaccinations, and this opens up a relationship of caring between you and your employees.

Encourage Exercise

One of the reasons many employees end up turning into a vegetable, sitting in the office waiting to be paid, is that the workplace is not effective. Make an investment in a fitness facility at work. What this does is it creates more than a job for your employees. It makes the workplace a source of interaction. Fitting locker rooms for employees and so on can help establish a foundation for the wellness programs. A good example is a lunch hour walking club that offers incentives for those who participate.

These two can help establish a basis for your workplace wellness programs.

Major Barriers to Workplace Wellness Programs

Workplace wellness can often strain the health budget of those wit low income levels. Caution needs to be taken in their implementation

Workplace wellness can often strain the health budget of those with low income levels. Caution needs to be taken in their implementation.

Andy Core is an expert in Work-Life Balance, Wellbeing, and Peak Human Performance.

Workplace wellness programs are a very important aspect of the productivity of the company. However, there are certain barriers that may exist in implementing them.

Discrimination

Many concerns have been raised as far as implementing programs that may change how employees behave. Mostly, these concerns are centered on privacy. Secondly, these workplace wellness programs aim to improve the health of the employees and in doing so may involve a high cost in terms of health cover. This therefore means that it will discriminate against those that earn less. Therefore, instead of helping with health conditions, the wellness programs might end up bringing a new problem to the workplace.

Result

So what this might result in higher levels of stress in the workplace. There are other various factors in the workplace such as job security, work schedules and so on. And outside the work are things like personal issues and commitments, financial burdens and so on may affect these programs. Some experts say these programs may have requirements that may discourage employees from taking part in some of their health benefit plans because of their expensiveness. S in the end employers can bill employees who can’t meet the standard so as to force them to find alternative cover.

In light of these barriers, Andy Core says great care needs to be taken in order to ensure that these workplace wellness programs are implemented in a manner that is beneficial to the whole workforce.
