Binge eating disorder is described as one suffering from compulsive overeating- a condition where people chomp through huge amounts of food. Such individuals simply have no control over what or how much they are consuming and are completely powerless to make themselves stop.
The symptoms of binge eating disorder commonly commence during late stages of adolescent years and often occur after the concerned patient goes through an extreme diet program- where they restrict their calories way too much. Binge eaters frequently eat even when they’re not hungry and or even when they are completely full.
The principle characteristics of binge eating disorder also include the individuals feeling extremely upset throughout or after the bingeing period. Moreover, unlike people who suffer from bulimia, binge eaters do not try to make up for the binges by vomiting, fasting or working out excessively. Moreover, individuals with binge eating disorder suffer from feelings of regret, repulsion, and despair. They beat themselves up about how the binges would affect their bodies and also for lacking self-control.
Binge eating causes you to gain weight, which only exacerbates the compulsive eating cycle. Binge eating can also lead to diabetes, high cholesterol, cancer, heart diseases, and inflammation.
