Sometimes a marriage comes to a point where it is simply toxic to both parties involved. The hardest part of ending a marriage is usually the aftermath. When you’re learning to move on with your life, it’s perfectly normal to feel down, and maybe even feel like you have failed.
Reconnect with friends, keep yourself busy, and work toward some personal goals that you may have put on hold while you were working on your relationship.
If you have children, you can spend more quality time with them, but since they will likely be spending significant time with your former spouse, you may be facing even more time completely alone than usual. Finding happiness within yourself will be a key to your long-term wellbeing.
Take time to do things you love, don’t feel guilty about putting yourself first at least some of the time, and don’t dwell on the ended marriage. Remember you are not the only person to have an ended relationship, and don’t worry about what might have been.
Look to the future and work toward your goals. Don’t live in the past, where you can’t change anything.
