and helps you form stronger bonds!

To be successful in life your Intelligence quotient or IQ isn’t enough rather it is your emotional intelligence quotient or EQ that really matters. True that your IQ might help you to graduate, but it is your EQ that actually helps you deal with your emotions such as anxiety and stress that you face during your examination period at college. Moreover, EQ is also the type of intellect that equips you with the knowledge about social conduct and makes you socially aware.

Below are two factors that are influenced by emotional intelligence:

One’s physiological health: Emotional Intelligence teaches you how to deal with stress. So individuals who haven’t developed their EQ, have trouble managing stress and this can lead to some severe health conditions. High stress levels have the tendency to deteriorate your whole body. It can increase your blood pressure, damage the immune system, raise your risk of getting a heart attack, can lead to infertility, can accelerate the aging process and can even lead to a stroke. So in order to control your stress levels, you need to work on developing your EQ.

One’s relationships:  EQ equips you with the appropriate knowledge that allows you to articulate yourself adeptly and at the same time makes you empathic as well. This allows you to form stronger and deeper bonds with others.

conditions

Plant-based foods are high in fiber, nutritional value and are very low in fat. The nutritional profile they encompass helps to enhance your mental, physical and organ health. These nutrients also aid in strengthening your immune system and help your body fight off various health conditions.

The best diet for preventing or fighting any of the serious diseases or conditions, is one which includes a high quantity of plant-based foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, beans and legumes.  To truly benefit from these food sources, we need to eat them in their natural unprocessed form instead of the refined renditions that are found in most of the processed or packaged foods these days.

You can easily add many of the plant-based foods to your diets daily. Nutritionists advocate that we should aim to include at least 3-5 servings of fruit, 3 servings of vegetables and 2 servings of whole grains each day. As for non-plant foods, such as dairy and animal meat, dieticians suggest that they should form only 1/3 part of our diet. So bear in mind that you don’t need to become a complete vegetarian to avail the benefits that plant based foods have to offer.

Some of the antioxidants are vitamin C, beta-carotene, selenium and vitamin E. Vegetables and fruits are packed with these antioxidants, so enjoy them amply.

Incorporate different colored fruits and vegetables.  The more variety of colored foods you complement your diet with, the more benefits you’ll be able to reap. Brightly colored fruits and vegetables are packed with phyto-chemicals, a powerful nutrient which helps to ward off disease and boost the immune system.

Add natural spices and herbs to your food.  Spices such as curry powder, coriander powder, turmeric, garlic powder, ginger powder etc, help to fight off cancer and add a punch of exotic flavor to your meal. Maintaining a normal PH balance will help you lose weight.

Maintaining a normal PH balance will
help you lose weight.

In order to function properly our bodies require that we maintain an appropriate PH balance. Our body’s PH value is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity level of our bodies and it changes from 0-14. A PH of 0 is known to be purely acidic and a PH of 14 is meant to be entirely alkaline. Scientists concur that our body’s ideal PH level is meant to fall in the range of 6-8.

Maintaining a proper PH balance is vital for the optimal functioning of our body’s metabolism, organs and its immune system. Moreover it also plays its part in promoting healthy bone health. Additionally, sustaining a healthy PH balance is essential for loosing weight.

All foods by nature are either acidic in nature or alkaline. When aiming to lose weight, you have to keep an eye on your body’s acid-alkaline balance. A diet plan that is high in acidic foods is known to promote fat gain. This is because in order to metabolize the excess acid, our bodies have to generate a surplus of fat so as to neutralize the effect. Although a few of the fat cells might get expelled out of our bodies, the residual simply get stored on it. Hence this mechanism caused us to gain weight. Foods that are acidic in nature include grains, refined flours, meats etc. While foods that are alkaline include fruits, vegetables, healthy oils etc.
