You Can’t Help Everyone, But You Can Help Someone

Andy Core is an expert in Work-Life Balance, Wellbeing, and Peak Human Performance.

You may get frustrated, thinking that no matter how much you do, you can’t fix everything. It’s true that you can’t help everyone in the world. However, you can help at least one person. And helping one person may make a huge difference in their world.

Don’t ever think helping someone is a waste of time

Don’t ever think helping
someone is a waste of time

By helping one person, you may enable that person to help others, and you can move on to help others as well. It does a person’s heart good to help others, and as an added benefit, those you help may be around to help you when you need it.

Don’t ever give up on being a good person. Maybe whatever you can do for someone else right now doesn’t seem like much, but it can mean everything to them at that moment. Even a small kindness can, at the very least, change someone’s outlook and make them feel more positive.

It will most likely help you to feel more positive as well, and great things can happen when you have the right attitude. People may forget some of the things you do, but they will likely always remember how you made them feel. And making anyone feel good about humanity can give them an immeasurable boost.

Accept a Helping Hand When You Need It

Don’t let worry get you down. Take help when you need it

Don’t let worry get you down.
Take help when you need it

No matter how strong, smart, or talented you are, everyone needs a helping hand sometimes. Don’t be ashamed to accept help when you need it, and don’t ever hesitate to return the favor when you are in the position to do so.

Bad things happen in life, and everyone should understand that. There are times when everyone needs help, whether you’re short on money or need some ideas on how to do an important project. There are countless situations in which you may need help, whether it’s something small or if it’s huge.

Most of the time, others won’t offer their assistance unless they truly want to help. So when you’re having trouble paying bills, and someone hands you a stack of cash, the best thing you can do is say thanks and use the money for the bills you need to pay.

When you’re behind at work and a co-worker offers to help with some paperwork, don’t say no. When you truly need the help, take it when offered. And once you catch up, and you’re back on your feet again, you can always repay those who helped you, or offer your help to someone else who needs it.

5 Tips for a Supervisor to Increase Productivity in the Workplace

Working as a manager, you know that there is much more to your job than simply telling people what to do. Productivity in the workplace depends in large part on keeping employees motivated to do their job.A key factor in productivity in the workplace is the engagement level between supervisor and employee.

For employees who are more engaged with their supervisors, 62% believe the supervisor sets a good example in the workplace. In addition, employees that are disengaged are 2.5 times more inclined to change jobs for as little as a 5% increase in pay.

Five tips to keep employees engaged:

  1. Give praise when it is deserved to increase motivation. Let the employee know that their contributions to the company are important.
  2. Ask for help. Use their brainpower to come up with new ideas. Ask for feedback. Keep them engaged in the process. Studies show that the more involved an employee is with creating new processes in the workplace, the more invested and passionate they’ll become.
  3. When you give out an assignment, make sure that your expectations are clear. Have the employee reiterate what it is that you want done. Don’t expect them to read your mind.
  4. Be honest. If you lead with transparency, your team will want to do the same. You should be afraid to admit when you make a mistake and neither should they.
  5. Don’t internalize problems with employees and fail to handle the issues quickly. Bottling up problems will cause you to do something rash.

Providing motivation is a good way to keep your employees engaged and invested in the success of the company. Productivity in the workplace can be increased when people are encouraged and inspired to make changes. Check in regularly with your employees and listen to them. Help them to help you.
