Low self-esteem is a self-perception of an individual that is characterized by negative thoughts and feelings, which causes them to think lowly of themselves. When a person has a low self-esteem, among other things, they have little confidence in what they are capable of doing. Overly High Self-Esteem

This is quite the opposite and can be as equally harmful as low self-esteem. Usually, high self-esteem is an illusion of the person in reality. For example, these individuals often think of themselves as superior, often quick to judge others, ignore their incompetence and despise those that criticize them.
