Everyone has felt it at one time or another. The sweaty palms, butterflies in your stomach, or cold perspiration running down your back may all be called by a case of nervousness. Maybe you only get it when you’re going for your first day on a new job.

Whatever the cause for your nervousness, no matter how often you feel it, there are ways to reduce and overcome nervousness. Even though you probably won’t be able to eliminate nervousness from your life completely, you can teach yourself to deal with it in a positive way.

If you find your nervousness crippling, your main problem is probably a lack of self-confidence. Lucky for you, there are ways to boost your self-esteem, chiefly by keeping a positive attitude. When you train your mind to think happy thoughts, you will find that the nervousness will diminish a great deal.

Other good ways to deal with nervousness, when it does occur, are to go for a walk or jog, talk to a trusted friend about why you feel nervous and come up with a plan to deal with it, or look in the mirror and talk yourself up. Again, all these activities are based on thinking positive.
