Family Not Work
Keynote speaker Andy Core says a workplace should be like a family. If you were to take a survey, all things being equal, you will find that most of your employees dread coming to work, or at least hate Mondays. Not because it’s a Monday, but in most cases it is because they are going to that particular place i.e. your company. Some workers put up with it because it’s a good job and they need to make ends meet. The key to productivity is keeping the employees happy.
Create a Family
What employers all over the world have failed to grasp is the fact that the workplace is not a place where the employees owe you something. For any company to achieve anything meaningful it has to function as a unit. The only way to achieve this is try to create a bond like that of a family in the workplace. For example, let your workers form a sports team of their choice and make sure you play also, no matter how bad you are. Sports create this unique bond.
When a company functions like a family it will better achieve its organizational goals. Keynote speaker Andy Core identifies the aspect of family as one of the key determinants of productivity in the workplace.
