Sitting around and complaining may make you feel better for a moment, but at the end of your tirade, the problem is still there. If you think something isn’t right, and you can change it, it is your duty to yourself to do so.
If it is something you can’t change, then you can either alter your way of thinking about it, or you can eliminate it from your life. Sometimes you have to realize that there are things beyond your control. However, you can control your reaction, and you can, for the most part, control who you allow into your life.
As a responsible adult, you have to make the right choices for your own life. If you are married, you and your spouse can make a lot of these decisions together. It’s not always easy to do the right thing.
If someone or something in your life is constantly dragging you down or holding you back, you have to do something about it. Positive changes can and must be made, even if it means cutting out whom or what was once an important part of your life. Happiness is much more difficult to find with negative influences around all the time.
