Opportunities will rarely just fall into your lap. You usually have to set goals and work toward them in order to achieve success. Practicing the things you’re best at and keeping your eyes on the prize will help you make it in life.
You have to aim high and dream big in order to enjoy great success, but don’t expect everything to happen in leaps and bounds. Although you may get some lucky breaks, moving up in life may sometimes require struggling through setbacks, and working back up the ladder slowly.
Many find it best to set goals that aren’t quite so lofty. If you strive for the top from the start, you may be setting yourself up for failure and disappointment. You must set goals that are attainable along the way, and eventually, you may be ready for that top spot.
By setting high goals, but goals that you can realistically meet in the near future, you will be encouraged by your smaller successes along the way. Patience is a virtue. You should try not to get ahead of yourself when it comes to working toward your ultimate objectives. Build up to that final goal, one step at a time.
